Baby Shower Game Ideas – Baby Bingo and Other Shower Games

Baby showers should be fun; the birth of a new baby should be anticipated with a festive and joyful spirit. To help things along, then a baby shower should include at least one, if not more games. The poor hostess, though, may have no idea what sort of games to organize, so here are a few ideas:

Baby Bingo

Most people are familiar with bingo, and the baby bingo variation is a popular choice for a baby shower game. It is easy to find printable bingo cards, some of which, such as BabyShowerGamesA-Z, can be ordered and downloaded online. Some customization is possible, such as the Mom’s name and the baby items used in the bingo.

Baby Item Memory Game

Fill a large tray with baby items, preferably small ones such as baby wipes, pins, diaper cream or ointment, booties, teething tablets and anything else you can fit on the trtay. Make it a challenge. Let the guests look at the tray for 2 minutes, then take it away again. Then comes the test. Give each guest a sheet of paper and pen, and let them write down the items they remember. The one who remembers the most items is the winner. But the biggest winner is mom-to-be, as she keeps all the items ready for her newborn baby.

Baby Food Testing Game

This can be a fun game at any party, but doing the blindfold food test with baby food is great fun. Get mom to sit in a chair and blindfold her. Spoon feed her with different types of baby food, and ask her to guess each food. You should get some interesting facial expressions, as well as strange guesses. An alternative is for all guests to play the game as well, except the spoon feeder! Every guest is blindfolded, and fed one food at a time; the blindfold is removed so they can write down their guess. Repeat that process for each baby food.

Diaper Food Smelling at a Baby Shower

Yuk this sounds awful, but you use clean disposable diapers and real baby food. Put the food item in the diaper, get everyone to sniff it, and then write down their answer.

Baby Word Unscramble

Write, on sheets of paper, baby item related words that you have already scrambled. Make sure you include a few long and more difficult ones if you can. The guests then have to unscramble the words in a short time frame which you decide. Make them rush!

Pregnant Mum Tummy Measuring

Pass around a roll of toilet paper. Each guest has to guess how many pieces to tear off  to circumnavigate mom’s tummy. If the guess is too low, then the tissue breaks apart, helping to make mom feel even more huge than she is.
